Bluecity Receives Seed Funding from Sustainable Development Technology Canada
Bluecity is honoured to announce that it has been chosen as a recipient of seed funding from Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC), an independent federal foundation and the largest funder of cleantech companies in Canada. Cleantech covers many sectors of the economy and includes a broad range of technologies including Bluecity’s work to reduce traffic congestion and carbon emissions.
Bluecity is one of the 26 emerging Canadian innovative companies to share in the SDTC’s 2.6-million-dollar investment in innovation. The SDTC supports Canadian companies that are leaders in the development of new environmental technologies that address pressing climate issues, such as climate change, clean air, clean water and clean soil. They work in both private and public sectors to get new ideas to market quickly and grow companies to scale sooner. The organization finds, funds and fosters entrepreneurs who will lead the transition to a net-zero economy.
Innovation is happening across all sectors in Canada and Bluecity is proud to be a part of it. We are working hard with cities across the world to reduce traffic congestion and carbon emissions using a lidar and artificial intelligence-powered system. The Bluecity solution gathers multimodal traffic data in real-time and during all weather and light conditions while respecting citizen privacy. We are eager to use the funding as a springboard to unlock future investment opportunities, customers and support. Bluecity is committed to improving road safety for the most vulnerable users and is part of the Vision Zero traffic safety project to eliminate all traffic fatalities and severe injuries.
